Our own invitations! We knew from the start that we wanted to design and make our own invitations. With Dan's career as a graphic designer and Carolyn's love of handmade goods, plus a desire for something unusual, it just made sense to make our own. How else to get orange wedding invitations?
We were inspired by architectural details and vintage furniture we found at our venue, Salvage One, and opted for colorful paper. We chose a less traditional venue and decor for the wedding, and wanted the invitations to highlight the fun, casual mood of the event. The papaya-colored paper just happened to match Carolyn's wedding shoes, and the blue and chartreuse papers used in the other elements added a fun contrast. The save-the-date card was made entirely with custom stamps and embossed to add texture. The invitations, info card, and RSVP card were partially printed on our own ink jet printer with key elements stamped and embossed.
